Shah Gilani's Archive
Shah Gilani
Wall Street superstar and former hedge fund manager Shah Gilani is the Chief Investment Strategist of Manward Press and at the helm of the Manward Money Report newsletter and the Launch Investor and Alpha Money Flow trading services. He’s a sought-after market commentator and has appeared on CNBC, Fox Business and Bloomberg TV. He’s also been quoted in The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times and The Washington Post, and he’s had columns published in Forbes.
In 1982, he launched his first hedge fund from his seat on the floor of the Chicago Board Options Exchange. He worked in the pit as a market maker when options on the S&P 100 Index first began trading… and was part of a handful of traders who laid the technical groundwork for what would eventually become the CBOE Volatility Index (VIX). He also ran the futures and options division at the largest retail bank in Britain. Shah gained notoriety for calling the implosion of U.S. financial markets (all the way back in February 2008) AND the mega bull run that followed.
Now at the helm of Manward, Shah is focused tightly on one goal: To do his part to make subscribers wealthier, happier and more free.
Commercial Real Estate Is About to Slide into an Abyss… And Take the Market with It
Enjoy the new bull market while it lasts, which won’t be long, because crashing commercial real estate (CRE) is going to sink banks, throw the economy into recession, and kill the stock market rally. Betting against one slice of the $21 trillion commercial real estate market, shopping malls, initially hammered by the switch to online […]
What To Do When “The Big Short 2.0” Leads to “The Biggest Short”
The popular 2015 film, “The Big Short,” starring Christian Bale, Steve Carell, Ryan Gosling, and Brad Pitt, told the true story of how a handful of traders collectively made billions of dollars betting against subprime mortgages in 2008. How it could happen should be clear from our conversation yesterday… Real estate is the single greatest […]
The Imminent Commercial Real Estate Collapse Will Spawn Generational Wealth
Everyone knows there’s money to be made in real estate, you buy and hold it and make a fortune. Right? Well, sometimes. But what most people don’t know is that there’s actually more money to be made, and a lot faster, when property prices crash. That’s the lesson from the 2008 residential real estate crash […]
Pulling Back the Curtain on “The New Big Short”
I wanted to make sure you were the first to know about a huge story I’ll be breaking next week on Total Wealth. I’ll be doing a deep dive on what I think could be one of the biggest capital shifts that I’ve seen in 40 years as a financial professional. I’m calling it “The […]
How to Deal With the Oil Market Right Now
Oil prices are on the rise after OPEC+ renewed its commitment to production cuts for the year and Saudi Arabia independently announced a 1 million barrel cut of its own. Naturally, a lot of people have been asking me if it’s time to get in and start picking up direct exposure to oil through instruments […]
AI Is Going to Send This Stock Skyward – Buy It ASAP
The introduction of fractional shares was one of the key pieces in the retail trading revolution, because it allowed investors at any wealth level to get exposure to stocks that only the wealthy could afford. I like to remind you of that every once in a while, because sometimes, an opportunity comes along in a […]
The Best Commodities Stock to Buy Right Now
With all the hype surrounding A.I. and mega-cap tech stocks, it’s no surprise investors are wondering where to park money that doesn’t seem overbought, but still has upside, and delivers income to get paid while they hold the stock. It’s a great question, and my answer is in hard assets such as commodities. Of all […]
How to Profit on a “Bankruptcy Wave” Hitting Markets Hard
Just last week, ATM maker Diebold Nixdorf, Inc. (DBD) filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy, citing more than $2.66 billion in debt and inadequate cash flow to make any further interest payments on its loans and bonds. They aren’t the exception this year. Frighteningly, they are the norm. Bankruptcies in the U.S. are rising at an […]
Here’s What to Do When the Stock Market’s A.I. Hype Fades Out
Most of the questions I’ve gotten this week center around computer chips and semiconductor companies, and with good reason. Of course, Nvidia Corporation (NVDA) is still leading a rally driven by the buzz around artificial intelligence, and everyone wants to know how to get in on the trend. But there’s a problem anytime that you […]
The Best Way to Play the Tech Stock Boom
There’s a saying among traders: “The trend is your friend.” Anyone watching trends right now can’t help but notice the meteoric rise of Nvidia Corporation (NVDA), still making gains from last week after an earnings report that soared past expectations. Their good fortunes have acted as a catalyst to drive up the entire Nasdaq-100, and […]
