Tap Into This Electrifying Network of Wealth Creation

Communication technology for internet business.

Somebody wrote us a sad note the other day.

They were feeling defeated. They said they’re broke, they’re scared of the stock market, and they fear for our broken culture and the political system that seems to be driving it.

It’s serious stuff… probably too serious for our little morning missives.

But not being welcome or qualified has never stopped us before.

We’ve made a career of ignoring it.

As our dearest of readers will know, we’re wrapping up the restoration of a 180-year-old log farmhouse.

It’s a big project.

Part of the work has been upgrading the electrical system… adding juice to a home that was built long before such black magic was thought possible.

We’ve done it hundreds of times in our life, but every time we hit the switch on a new circuit for the first time, voila, like the electrons bouncing around in that 14-gauge copper wire, we get a bit excited.

Perhaps it’s because, as we’re wont to do, we stop to scratch our head and ponder it all.

Lasting Connections

When that bulb lights up or those fan blades begin to whir, we know that we’ve just completed the last step of a long process. Somebody else ran the wire to the house. Another fella installed the meter. Linemen set the poles and strung the line. A faraway worker built the transformer. Engineers designed the high-tension lines. Hundreds of folks built the powerplant. The list goes on and on.

When we flick that switch, we’re merely completing a circuit that stretches many miles back to its source.

It’s a real marvel.

Do this…

Climb to a high spot in your area at dusk. Watch as the lights below turn on one by one.

You’ll witness not just an engineering and scientific feat. You’ll see a powerful and inspirational metaphor for our culture and our economy.

Each of those bulbs was put there by an individual with his own needs. Maybe he needed to light up a room… blaze some color on his sign… or help his son get back to sleep after a nightmare.

Our individual desires and needs propel the great system. They create a grand map of our individual lives and the ties that bind us to the culture around us.

None of it could be done independently.

Plug In

We often hear from readers who are disgruntled. There’s no way to change things, they say. Their voice and their vote don’t matter.

It’s rubbish… lazy rubbish.

The folks who built our old farmhouse might have said the same thing. “There’s no way that they’ll ever light up the world,” they might have moaned. “There’s no way they’ll string a tiny piece of copper, not just from our home to that dam 20 miles from here… but to every house, barn, shed and well pump across the land.”

But they did. We did.

It’s easy to feel broke and helpless.

But what’s easy is rarely what’s right.

We live in a massive $23 trillion economy – the largest there has ever been. It’s an electrifying network of opportunity and wealth creation.

It stretches around the world and into every room in every building in the land.

Anybody can tap into it. You just need to open your eyes to the light.

Great things – and great change – can come. A mass of individuals doing what’s best can change the world.

The proof is all around us.

You just need to plug into it, dear friend.
